Both the advances in medical technology, the universal health care and the functioning of sanitary infrastructures, especially the technology applied to the patient in different spaces, not just in hospital, make the future of infrastructures management, which is in constant evolution, be one of the challenges that healthcare architectural sector will have to face in the coming years.
The design of a healthcare space has to be considered not only as a building of high functional complexity, as it often happens, but also as a complicated system of systems whose understanding depends on the information we collect from each system as well as that information from the core system that includes and rules them as a whole. That is why it turns out to be so elusive, therefore, to traditional architectural methods and needs accurate multidisciplinary and specialized techniques.
